Our story
It started with one truck and a borrowed mower.
Grace Okafor started Fernwood the summer after she earned her horticulture degree, mowing lawns and planting gardens for neighbors. Her secret was simple: choose the right plant for the right place, and look after it like it's your own.
Today her son Daniel leads a team of designers, certified landscape technicians and hardscape craftsmen. Grace still walks new design projects, and still insists on native plants wherever they fit.
