Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to hard questions.

If you don't see your question here, call (555) 555-0119. Consultations are always free and confidential.

IConsultations & fees

Is the first consultation really free?

Yes. Your first consultation is free, confidential and comes with no obligation. You'll speak directly with an attorney who handles cases like yours.

How does a contingency fee work?

For personal injury and accident cases, we're paid a percentage of what we recover for you, agreed in writing up front. If we don't win, you owe us no attorney's fee.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Criminal defense and family law clients can usually spread flat fees or retainers over several months. We'll discuss options at your consultation.

IIWorking with us

Will I actually work with a partner?

Yes. Every case is led by a partner, supported by associates and paralegals. The attorney you meet at your consultation stays on your case.

Is what I tell you confidential?

Yes. What you share while seeking legal advice is kept strictly confidential, even if you decide not to hire us. Please don't send sensitive details through the website form, though; save them for your consultation.

Does contacting you make me a client?

No. An attorney-client relationship begins only after we have checked for conflicts and you have signed a written engagement agreement. Until then, please don't assume we represent you or miss any deadline.

IIIInjury & accident claims

How long do I have to file an injury claim?

Every state sets a deadline, called the statute of limitations, which is often two to three years and sometimes much shorter for claims against government entities. Call us promptly so no deadline is missed.

Should I talk to the other driver's insurance company?

Report the accident to your own insurer, but avoid giving a recorded statement to the other party's insurer before speaking with a lawyer. Their job is to minimize your claim.

What is my case worth?

It depends on your medical costs, lost income, long-term effects and the strength of the evidence. We'll give you an honest range once we've reviewed your records, never a number designed to win your business.

IVArrests & urgent matters

Someone I love was just arrested. What do I do?

Call our 24/7 line at (555) 555-0119. Encourage them to stay calm, stay silent and ask for a lawyer. We can often help with bail and the first court appearance.

Should I answer police questions if I'm innocent?

You have the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. Politely say you want to speak with a lawyer before answering questions. Innocent people are hurt by misunderstood statements every day.

I'm in danger at home. Can you help?

If you are in immediate danger, call 911 first. Then call us. We can seek an emergency protective order, often within a day.

Talk to an attorney today. Not a call center.

Tell us what happened. We'll explain your options in plain English and what we would do next. There's no cost, and no pressure to hire us.

Attorney advertising. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship.
